Privacy notice
Last updated 28 October 2026
In short: we don’t set cookies, track you or show advertising. If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address (and your club, if you add it) only to tell you when Midweeker launches. We count page views without cookies or IP addresses. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.
Who we are
Midweeker is an independent business based in the United Kingdom (“Midweeker”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@midweeker.com.
This notice covers the website at midweeker.com. The Midweeker app isn’t launched yet. It will have its own privacy notice, covering accounts and saved trips, before it opens to the public.
What we collect, and why
When you visit the website. We don’t ask you for anything, and we don’t use cookies or tracking. Your browser still has to connect to these services to show the page:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and protects it from attacks. It processes your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser details, and keeps short-lived logs for security and to keep the site running. Cloudflare acts on our behalf. If it ever needs to check for automated traffic, it may set a strictly necessary security cookie. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- YouTube plays the video on the home page, embedded in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When the player loads, your browser connects to YouTube, which receives your IP address and browser details. YouTube says it doesn’t use this mode to personalise your experience unless you play the video. Once you press play, Google’s privacy policy applies to what you watch.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website that works and shows our brand.
Visit counts. To see which pages are read and where visitors come from, our website counts page views per day, grouped by page, the website you came from (for example instagram.com), your country and any campaign tag in the link (such as utm_source=youtube). We don’t use cookies for this, and we don’t store IP addresses or anything else that could identify you. The totals are stored by Cloudflare, and we keep them for up to two years. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used.
When you join the waitlist. We store the email address you give us, your club if you add it, the campaign tag of the page you signed up from, the date and time, and the wording you agreed to. We use them only to email you when Midweeker launches and, if you added your club, to decide which clubs to cover first in what we send. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing hello@midweeker.com or using the unsubscribe link in any email we send. We store the list with Cloudflare, in its Western Europe region. We keep each entry until you unsubscribe, or until we close the waitlist after launch, and then we delete it. We don’t share the list with anyone else. If we later use an email service to send the launch email, it will act on our behalf, and we’ll name it here first.
When you email us. We use your email address and message to reply and to deal with what you asked. We keep them only as long as we need to, normally no more than 12 months, unless the law requires longer. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.
Social media. The Instagram, YouTube and TikTok links take you to those platforms. Their own privacy policies apply there, and we see only what those platforms show their account holders.
Cookies
We don’t set any cookies. The only cookies that might appear are the strictly necessary security cookie described above, and YouTube’s cookies if you play the video. That’s why there’s no cookie banner.
Who we share data with
Only the services named above. We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t share it for advertising. We would disclose information only if the law required it.
International transfers
Cloudflare and Google (for YouTube) may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. When they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK’s approved contract terms.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to:
- see the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected or deleted
- restrict how we use it, or object to our using it
- receive a copy in a portable format, where that applies
Email hello@midweeker.com and we’ll reply within one month. Apart from waitlist entries and emails you send us, we hold nothing that can identify you. For the services above, you can also contact Cloudflare or Google directly.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children
This website is meant for adults planning football trips. It isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data.
Security
The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and it runs no scripts in your browser. Only we can access the waitlist.
Changes to this notice
We’ll update this notice when the website changes, for example when the app launches. The date at the top shows the latest version.
